Helsingin Sanomat Multichannel Solutions
HS Multichannel Front Page
The ad is displayed once when entering the HS.fi site or any page in the mobile applications. The ad can be closed by clicking on the X at the top or bottom of the banner, and clicking on the banner will redirect users to content.
HS multichannel front page is run mainly based on impressions. The ad is not shown to all HS readers, but is run on mobile, computer and table browsers based on impressions. This means that the ad will be visible on about half of the browsers and applications accessing the site.
In HS tablet applications, the ad is shown at the start of the daily paper both in the digital edition and the edition designed for tablets. Due to the display logic of tablets, the number of daily ad impressions will vary slightly.

Worth noting on print materials
HS front page ads may not contain a working EAN code. The barcode can cause phantom charges at store checkout. Sanoma Media Finland Oy does not filter out the barcodes in materials.
Worth noting on digital materials
Topscroll Advertising Guidelines
- The topscroll ad will be displayed at the top of the HS.fi website and app, just below the header, before the page content. The ad reserves 100% of the available browser window height, and it will scale according to the browser window width, up to the maximum ad width.
- The ad may appear to a visitor once per session per day.
- To ensure a smooth user experience and fast ad loading, the ad request is loaded onto the site before consent, anonymously, and without cookies. Therefore, impression tracking which sets cookies is not allowed.
- To ensure quick ad material loading, it’s recommended to keep the ad content as lightweight as possible.
You can use image or video content in the topscroll. Please pay attention to our safe area guidelines to ensure that the most important content is visible to every user. - About video in topscroll:
- Video is shown with looping. We recommend that the video is at least 3 seconds long.
- Optimize video files for the web. The maximum file size for videos is 4MB, and the file format should be MP4.
- Video material can also include audio, but please note that ad will start automatically without sound and it requires the user to activate audio.
